100K Course Change

The team has been working hard to get everything prepared for a great race. However, we have received final word from park officials that, this year, due to the expected large volume of Tibetans doing their pilgrimage, we are not allowed to let the race go into the night in the Meili Snow Mountain park. 100k runners will not be doing two loops of the 50k course, instead a revised 100k route has been created for the second 50k distance.

The first 50k stays the same and is almost all trail, the second 50k will be mostly road. After completing the first 50k loop and reaching the start line, from here you will run back through Xidang up to the main mountain road, then run towards Feilai Temple to finish. Once on the road section, there will be mobile stations via automobile to follow each group of 100k runners and provide water, food, and light, supporting runners all the way to the finish. This new course gives 100k runners more sights and locations to experience.

  • Planned Start Time for 100K around 05:00 AM
  • SUNRISE: 6:47 AM
  • SUNSET: 7:52 PM

Total climb: 4,702m (15,426ft) Total descent: 3,954m (12,972ft) Lowest point: 2,088m (6,853ft) Highest point: 3,767m (12,359ft)

If you are running the 100K race please take note of the changes and plan accordingly.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
